    How to use

    What this tool does

    Each image is opened by your browser with EXIF orientation applied, so a portrait phone photo is reported as portrait. The tool reports width, height, the simplest aspect ratio (and its nearest common name), megapixels, file size and type, and flags images larger than typical web sizes.

    Why it matters

    Uploading images far larger than they are displayed is the most common cause of heavy pages. Knowing the real dimensions helps you resize them before upload.

    Common uses

    • Checking a batch of photos before uploading to WordPress.
    • Verifying that assets match a required size.

    Tips

    • For most blog layouts, about 1600–2000 px wide is plenty for full-width images.

    Limitations

    Only formats your browser can open are measured (HEIC only in Safari).
